<p>Web design, ecommerce and branding.<span id="more-742"></span></p>
<p>The Templar Knights Partnership was formed in September 2010 to promote the Knights Templar City of Tomar, in Portugal.</p>
<p>The partnership wants to do this in a number of ways:</p>
<p>Work with the local tourist board to promote Tomar<br />
Boost local business by selling wine from the region<br />
Provide an information service and publish guide books<br />
Run guided tours for visitors</p>
<p>10th Planet were asked to give the project an identity and create a website which looked modern and was easy to use but which reflected the deep history and heritage of Tomar and the fascinating history of the Knights Templar.</p>
<p>The website is the hub of the operation and covers:</p>
<p>Information about the partnership<br />
Several photo galleries<br />
A shop to sell local products, guide books, wine and tours<br />
A historical resource</p>
<p>We decided that a WordPress installation would allow the partnership to constantly update and renew the content and also offer an ecommerce and photo gallery solution.</p>

<p>The Beat is the Law is a sequel to 2001&#8242;s &#8220;Made in Sheffield&#8221;, a chronicle of the rise of music in the city from the early 1970s to the early 1980s when pioneers such as the Human League, ABC, Cabaret Voltaire, Heaven 17, Pulp, I&#8217;m So Hollow, Artery, The Extras, 2.3, Clock DVA and The Comsat Angels set about their mission&#8230;to &#8220;kill off Rock and Roll&#8221;!</p>
<p>That film was premièred at Sheffield&#8217;s International Documentary Festival (another client of ours!) and has since become an international success, becoming part of musical history itself as well as making it into Time Out&#8217;s list of 50 greatest Musical Films Ever. It also features one of the last interviews with John Peel, as well as contributions from all the main players.</p>

<p>&#8220;The Beat is the Law&#8221; continues the story through to the 1990s taking in Pulp, Babybird, Longpigs, Moloko and more and also follows the rise of dance music from Warp, FON and WAU!MrModo as well as interviews with Jarvis Cocker and Richard Hawley.</p>
<p>Eve Wood (director) and Richard Wood (Producer) asked us to create a website for this project after a conversation between Andy and Eve which started in the Showroom cinema in 2001, got interrupted, and then, strangely, resumed in 2008 in exactly the same place.</p>
<p>Working as sponsors of the documentary we created a blog-based website so that the producers can make instant updates and drive the promotion of the film as it gains momentum between its preview screening as part of Sensoria 2009 and its full premiere at DocFest.</p>

<p>How do you make orthotic shoes sexy? This was the challenge posed to us with this project. The client wanted to steer clear of any medical connotations and focus on trying to make the product a desirable fashion item.</p>
<p>We started by choosing a look that would ooze exoticism, style and class, so the customer would feel like they were looking at a truly exceptional product. We created a baroque inspired design, filled it with luxurious reds and purples and added subtle textures to bring about a decadent, yet intimate theme.</p>
<p>From a technical view, the Concept Footwear includes a variety of features that help bring the site to life. Each style of shoe includes an interactive 360 rotating view, a feature that required us to carry out product photography and image preparation work for each style. The site was designed to be compatible with all browsers, but included some extra flourishes for people with more modern browsers such as AJAX based loading of available styles by brand and custom fonts using Flash.</p>
<p>It was important to the client to include customer feedback, so we implemented customer reviews and a star rating system, together with a moderation panel for the client. The customer can leave feedback about a product without ever leaving the page they&#8217;re on and is invited to join the Concept Footwear mailing list, providing a mechanism to create a customer database.</p>

<p>Uncommon People is an ambitious project that aims to create a audio-visual history of the bands and music that have come out of Sheffield. We were excited to work on this project, particularly as nothing of its kind had ever been attempted before.</p>

<p>We produced a powerful 3D visualisation using Adobe&#8217;s Flash and Flex which lets you explore the connections between different bands and the people that made them.</p>
<p>Every area of the site allows contributions from users which will, in time, become a major part of the experience.</p>
<p>Uncommon People is constantly under active development and we&#8217;re working with Sensoria, the instigators of the project, to add new features all the time.</p>

<p><span id="more-56"></span>In April 2009 the Yorkshire and Humber branch of the UKTI took a contingent of creative companies from the region across the Atlantic to the SXSW festival in Texas. We were approached to create a website to promote the delegation.</p>
<p>When the UKTI came to us, they had no plan &#8211; not even a name for the project. We responded by creating a new brand identity for the trip, Y2TX. Each company that was part of the delegation was to have their own page on the website and there needed to be a central forum for them to discuss what was going on before, during and after the event and to act as a central point of contact for prospective clients and leads.</p>
<p>We took on responsibility for working with the 16 different companies and organisations that were taking part in the delegation and we project managed the operation from start to finish, liaising with the delegates to ensure we had all their relevant information.</p>
<p>The end product was a website that focussed on bringing the delegates to the fore, with some subtle interactive flourishes to lift the site.</p>
<p>We also produced an advertisement for the official SXSW magazine to promote the delegation and Y2TX brand.</p>

<p><span id="more-152"></span>When K-Pasa decided to relaunch itself, they came to us for help. Previously K-Pasa had been a cheap and cheerful restaurant that was frequented mostly by students. The owners wanted to reinvent itself and move upmarket and we were drafted in to help realise it.</p>
<p>We were originally contracted to design the logo and brand, menus, stationery, and signage, but after their architect turned in some uninspiring ideas, we ended up designing the interior as well. Not being ones to turn down a challenge we took the opportunity to create a bold and vibrant interior that reflected the restaurant&#8217;s novel approach to Mediterranean cuisine.</p>

<p>We offset bright, bold and earthy colours with modern furniture and fittings to create a space which felt exclusive and upmarket without being snooty and alienating. We created original artwork for the block canvases placed around the restaurant and then oversaw the shopfitters to ensure that what we planned actually came out right.</p>
<p>In the weeks leading up to the launch we also created invitations to the opening night, built the <a href="http://www.k-pasa.co.uk/" target="_blank">K-Pasa website</a> to help promote the launch and build up and online presence. We also helped to start a mailing list and advised on the use of social media, such as the setting up of a <a href="http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=40818874461" target="_blank">K-Pasa group on Facebook</a>.</p>
<p>Andy even helped the new management choose their new chef with a tasting session&#8230;much to everyone else at 10th Planet&#8217;s annoyance.</p>

<p><span id="more-215"></span>New Era had an unenviable task when they started. They were trying to enter an already overloaded market, although they had an excellent and innovative product.</p>
<p>When we were approached we didn&#8217;t know very much about fish, so we immersed ourselves in some in-depth research. What we found was that while there was lots of different products on the market there wasn&#8217;t a lot to differentiate between them. We decided to pitch New Era&#8217;s products as a luxury item, opting to focus the brand around black packaging instead of what seemed to be an industry standard of white emblazoned with gaudy, tacky labels. The result was a product that really stood out on the shelf packaged in a way that the best product on the market deserved.</p>
<p>We have been working with New Era for a number of years now and our relationship with them goes from strength to strength, advising them on new campaigns and producing all their promotional material, packaging, exhibition panels and website.</p>
